Zoom requirements

Zoom Admins

If you are an admin in your Zoom organization, here are the changes you need to make in your account settings.

  • Under Admin - Account Management:

    • Navigate to Account Settings.

    • Go to the Recording tab.

    • Ensure that the Record to computer files setting is enabled.

    • Make sure that the checkboxes for:

      • Internal participants

      • External participants are selected.

  • Under Admin - User Management:

    • Navigate to Groups.

    • Go to the Recording tab.

    • Ensure that the Record to computer files setting is enabled.

    • Make sure that the checkboxes for:

      • Internal participants

      • External participants are selected.

This step is necessary only if you already have groups; otherwise, the settings under Personal - Setting will be sufficient.

  • Under Personal - Setting:

    • Ensure that the Record to computer files setting is enabled.

    • Make sure that the checkboxes for:

      • Internal participants

      • External participants are selected.


Zoom Account Members

If you are a zoom account member in your Zoom organization, here are the changes you need to make in your account settings.

  • Under Personal - Setting:

    • Ensure that the Record to computer files setting is enabled.

    • Make sure that the checkboxes for:

      • Internal participants

      • External participants are selected.

If you are not allowed to enable this setting, please contact the admin user of your Zoom organization and ask them to make the above adjustments.


What you need to know as a host:

  • Scribe will ask to be admitted into your meeting.

  • Spiky will ask you, the meeting host, for permission to capture the meeting as soon as Scribe is let into the call.

What you need to know as a meeting participant:

  • Scribe will ask to be admitted into your meeting.

  • Scribe will ask the host for permission to capture the meeting.

  • The meeting host must allow both permissions for Spiky to analyze your meetings.

  • When joining a meeting that is already being recorded or the host begins recording, participants are asked to consent to being recorded.

  • If your account will be starting the video capture, it would be good to inform the host about this for approval purposes.
