Scribe joins Zoom meetings and starts recording the same way it does in Google Meet and Microsoft Teams:
✅ No permission pop-up for the host
✅ The host or an alternative host doesn't have to be in the meeting for recording to start
✅ Recording no longer depends on Zoom's local recording setting
What you need to do
Nothing. Just make sure your calendar is connected, your recording preferences are adjusted, and Scribe is admitted to the meeting if you use a waiting room.
Why did Scribe leave my meeting?
Scribe does not leave because the scheduled calendar time has ended. It stays as long as the meeting is active. The most common reasons Scribe leaves are:
Reason | What happened |
Everyone left | All participants left the meeting, so Scribe left too. |
Host ended the meeting | The host ended the meeting for everyone. |
Removed by a participant | Someone in the meeting removed Scribe. |
Not admitted from the waiting room | Nobody let Scribe in from the waiting room. |
