CRM Integrations

Everything you need to know about connecting your CRM to Spiky, how meetings automatically match to the right deal and company, and how to control exactly what gets synced.

Spiky has native integrations with five CRM platforms — Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, and Sugar CRM — so that meeting summaries, transcripts, and action items flow into your CRM automatically. This article covers the full picture: connecting your CRM, understanding how Spiky matches a meeting to the right record, configuring what gets synced (Note Sync), aligning with your sales methodology (Playbook Sync), and where to see the results (the Deals page).

Using a different CRM? If your team's CRM isn't one of the five listed above, you're not out of luck — you can still sync meeting data through Zapier. Since Zapier connects to thousands of apps, it can bridge Spiky to CRMs without a native integration (e.g., Close, Copper, Freshsales, and more). See the Zapier Integration article for how to set that up.

1. Connecting your CRM

CRM connections are managed under Settings > Integrations > Personal > CRM. Each person on your team connects their own CRM login — this is a personal setting, not an org-wide one, so make sure every rep who wants auto-sync connects their own account.

CRM

How to connect

Salesforce

Click Connect, log in, and approve access.

HubSpot

Click Connect, log in, and approve access. See Required HubSpot Permissions for the exact scopes requested.

Pipedrive

Click Connect, log in, and approve access.

Zoho CRM

Click Connect, log in, and approve access.

Sugar CRM

Click Contact Us to book a short setup call — Sugar CRM doesn't have a self-serve login flow, so our team configures it with you.

To disconnect any of these, go back to the same section and click Disconnect, then confirm. Disconnecting doesn't delete anything already synced — it just stops new meetings from syncing going forward.

2. How Spiky matches a meeting to the right Deal, Company, and Contact

Once your CRM is connected, Spiky doesn't just dump a note somewhere — it links each meeting to the correct record automatically, based on the meeting participants:

  • Contact matching: Spiky checks the email addresses of external participants against your CRM's existing contacts.

  • Company matching: If a participant's email domain matches a company already in your CRM, the meeting is linked to that company.

  • Deal matching: If that contact or company has an open deal associated with it in your CRM, the meeting is linked to that deal as well.

This is why it's worth keeping contact and company records reasonably up to date in your CRM — the cleaner your existing data, the more reliably Spiky can find the right match. If a meeting can't be matched automatically (for example, a brand-new prospect with no existing CRM record), you can typically link it manually from the meeting page.

3. Note Sync: controlling what gets synced

Once matched, what actually gets written to the CRM record is controlled from Settings > CRM Setup > Note Sync. This is where you set your team's defaults, so reps don't have to configure every meeting by hand.

Select Record Types — choose which CRM object types notes should sync to:

  • Company

  • Deal

  • Contact

Customize Note Content — choose exactly what's included in each synced note:

  • Participants — the list of meeting attendees

  • Public Link — a shareable link to the meeting summary/transcript

  • Brief Summary — a short, high-level recap

  • Detailed Summary — a fuller, more in-depth writeup

  • Action items by summary sections — follow-ups grouped by topic/section of the call

  • Action items by people — follow-ups grouped by who owns them

  • Meeting transcript — attaches the full transcript as a separate note

These are default selections — they save time by removing the need to configure fields meeting by meeting, but they can still be adjusted any time from this page, and reps can typically override them per meeting if needed.

4. Playbook Sync: aligning with your sales methodology

Settings > CRM Setup > Playbook Sync goes a level deeper than notes — it syncs your team's sales qualification framework into structured CRM fields, pulled automatically from what was actually discussed on the call.

Spiky comes with built-in playbooks:

  • MEDDIC — Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion

  • MEDDPICC — MEDDIC plus Paper Process and Competition

  • SPIN — Situation, Problem, Implication, Need-Payoff

  • BANT — Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline

Each framework breaks down into individual criteria (e.g., BANT's Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline), and you can attach custom qualifying questions to each one.

CRM Custom Field Sync is where you connect these criteria to your actual CRM: pick a CRM Object and a Custom CRM Field, then Spiky will automatically populate that field with the relevant answer pulled from your calls — for example, syncing the "Budget" criterion of BANT straight into a custom "Budget Confirmed" field on your Deal object.

Field type matters: use long text fields (1,000+ characters recommended) for these custom fields. Shorter or non-text field types can cause data loss or sync errors.

This means your team's qualification status updates itself across multiple meetings, without anyone manually filling in playbook fields in the CRM.

5. Where to see it all: the Deals page

Once your CRM connection is active and deals start syncing, head to Deals (app.spiky.ai/deals/deal) to see everything in one place. Each row shows:

  • Deal Details — deal name and associated company

  • Stage — the deal's current CRM stage (e.g., Appointment Scheduled, Presentation Scheduled, Contract Sent)

  • Owner — who owns the deal

  • Playbook Completeness — a visual breakdown (e.g., S / P / I / N for SPIN) showing how much of your chosen framework has been covered so far

  • Meetings — how many meetings are linked to this deal

  • Last Meeting — the date of the most recent call, with a link straight to its Insight page

Clicking into a deal opens a detailed view with:

  • Overview — Spiky Score, Average Interaction Score, Average Emotion Score, and an AI-generated brief summary combining insights across every meeting tied to the deal

  • Playbook — how well the deal has been qualified against your chosen framework

  • Summary — consolidated notes across all linked meetings

  • Action Items — every open follow-up tied to the deal

  • A full list of the meetings linked to that deal, each clickable for the individual call's insights

This is the fastest way to check deal health without opening your CRM at all — and since it's all pulled from the same auto-synced data, what you see here should match what's landing in your CRM records.
